Shark Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Western Australia, provides shelter to a diverse marine life, including dolphins, turtles, and sharks, as well as geological features, specifically the birridas. Formed when sea levels were much higher, birridas are gypsum lakes that have dried up, leaving behind these circular or oval-shaped salt depressions, ranging in size from 100 meters to 1 kilometer wide. Typically, these consist of a core platform encircled by a moat-like hollow.
